Psylozen @ Trifecta NYE, Toronto December 31, 2009

Early December I realized we still needed to find something to do for NYE in Toronto since we'd be there visiting Family for the holidays. I caught rumor that Shakti Collective might be doing something, so I sent them a quick email enquiring. I mentioned in passing that I play chill stuff, and the next thing I know is that I'm on the bill to play at Trifecta--their NYE party. And what a night it was (: Nerves started kicking in sometime early afternoon, and by the time we were on our way to Vida Lounge after a late meal with friends, I was so bad that the Best Girl of All was having serious stomache cramps. We arrived, I stowed my gear, and immediately headed to the dancefloor. Half an hour of Plan B completely fixed my nerves and relaxed me, and I went on to play one of my better sets of the year. Also, best response I've ever had to one of my sets. Thank you Toronto! I'll be back, if you'll have me (:

Psylozen - November 2009 Demo Mix November 19, 2009

Figured I should have a fresh demo on me at PsyMind. After some technical issues (make sure your soundcard is using ASIO drivers), and some time related challenges (what do you mean, we're leaving tomorrow and I don't have a demo recorded yet?), I finally came up with this, and I'm pretty pleased. I cover a lot of ground with this one, starting off with some worldy stuff, working its way through progressive and techy sounds, to close off with some more relaxed chill tunes. I'm really pleased with this one. First time I've sat down and put together a downtempo mix, and it's been an educational experience. I've noticed that I seem to be more familiar w/ producers of Chill music, and that the music has a more profound impact on me more often than the dancefloor oriented stuff. Maybe I need to start focusing more on this side of things...
